Do you have a physical store?
Currently, we do not have a brick and mortar store. Our storage is located in Stockholm, Sweden.
How do I contact A Mousey Tale?
The easiest way to get in touch is to send an email to: amouseytale@gmail.com. Please be advised due to a high level of orders response time could be long. You can also use the online contact form or ping us at social medias (Facebook or Instagram). You can find all contact information on the website.
I am looking for a collectible that isn’t in the webshop, what can I do?
You can send us a request about an item you are looking for. Be aware though that some things are more difficult to find than others. But A Mousey Tale's motto is that nothing is impossible!
Where can I see all collections from Maileg?
Maileg releases two collections a year (spring/summer and fall/winter) and those are shown in their product catalogues. You can access them directly at A Mousey Tale trough "Menu" -> “Catalogues”.
Can I cancel or modify my order?
A Mousey Tale has at this time unfortunately a no cancellation policy, which means once you have placed an order it cannot be reversed. All orders are final. If you wish to modify your order or adding items you can contact us trough email.
How do I track my order?
Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a tracking number via email. You can use this number to track your order on the carrier's website: www.postnord.com
What is your return policy?
A Mousey Tale do not accept return of items unless the items received are defect upon our confirmation. The case of faulty item/s excludes discounted items with disclosed faults in the description. Furthermore this do not include damage caused by post carriers. A Mousey Tale’s refund policy is in addition to and does not effect any of your legal rights (according to Swedish and European law).
ATTENTION
- Items cannot be reserved.
- Items cannot be traded to other goods.
- No individual messages can be sent to forewarn an item is being listed online.
- No individual messages can be sent to forewarn a yard sale is about to go online.
- For juridical reasons A Mousey Tale do not buy items from customers.
What does “used but good condition” mean?
This means that items have been played with/used by a previous owner. It could also be a display item from retail. Good condition means that it’s clean but might have some minor wear, dings, scratches, or finish cracks, which always is described in the product information.
What does “excellent condition” mean?
This is mint condition: like new out of the box (but still used by a previous owner).
What does “brand new” mean?
It means that the item is imported from retail. The reason it’s written “new” (quotation marks) is because even though those items are new in the
sense they come from retail they could still have been stored up to 15 years.
What does original wrapping or package mean?
In most cases the items come with the wrapping and/or package that was used in retail. That would normally means Maileg’s original packing accessories such as cardboard boxes with Maileg’s logo and product information. For clothes it’s normally some kind of plastic etui or bag with a piece of patterned paper and product information.
Can I reserve an product and buy it later?
No, unfortunately not. Products cannot be reserved. This to keep a fair game for everyone looking for their desirable collectibles.
Can I get an e-mail reminder when an product is about to be listed online?
No, unfortunately not. No personal emails or heads up can be sent to forewarn a product is about to be listed online. If a product you are looking for is out of stock you can always click the button "notify me when available". Once it's in stock again the system will automatically send an email to your registered email address.
I have a lot of old Maileg items, can I sell them to A Mousey Tale?
For juridical reasons A Mousey Tale do not buy products from customers. Our recommendation is selling them on platforms such as Ebay, Marketplace or local second hand carriers.
ATTENTION
It’s important to take following into consideration when you
buy a retired and rare item, no matter if it’s in good,
excellent or brand “new” condition.
Natural aging
Some material changes due to aging. For example, elasticity loses its stretch. That means that waist band or similar elastic parts in clothes get less stretchy over time. This is repairable. Other natural flaws that could occur are colour fading. This kind of fading normally only means that the colours are less sharp than they originally were. The colour is still smooth and the fabric has all over the same nuance (in comparison to sun damaged clothes).

Production factors
Some items have “flaws” that were
there initially. For example, furniture that was made with
less robust material could easily get dings, finish cracks
or colour chips etcetera. This could happen during production,
in retail or during transport.
Individual differences
All mice, bunnies and furniture are individual hand made crafts and therefore aren’t exact duplicates looks wise. This is natural though we are talking discrete differences.

The lovely Maileg figures and toys come in all forms and shapes. Part of the whimsical charm is that one can mix all sizes as one like. Only the imagination sets the limit. But a few size guidelines are always helpful since the many sizes sometimes could be rather confusing - especially for a beginner. Be aware though that this size guids mostly concerns retired Maileg products so it wont't fully cover the newer productions.
Labeling
When purchasing a Maileg product make sure to look for the size labeling. This will guide you to the correct size. Labeling such as: MY, micro, mini, medium are sizing for furnitures and micro, mini, medium, maxi, mega, mega maxi are sizing for bunnies as weell as clothes.
Old versus new system
Be advised that this measuring concerns older collections of Maileg. New productions has another labeling system with sizing 1-5 for bunnies and clothes.
BUNNIES
Rabbits are always taller than their bunny counterparts because their ears are upright, whereas bunnies have long, floppy ears. Below the sizing are illustrated.
Older collections
The very old version of rabbits and bunnies were sized baby (newborn), small, medium, large and XL.
Updated sizing
After 2012 the labeling changed to MY, micro, mini, medium, maxi, mega and mega maxi.
Current categorizing
Since 2019 the long eared family is categorized by size 1-5. Below size chart will show the difference between the older and current sizing system. Size 1 is close to older sizing mini. The current productions have a brand new size (2) that has no comparison in the old system, it's rather between size mini and medium. Size 3 can be compared to older medium sizing and the same for size 4 to maxi, size 5 to mega. The older mega maxi size don't have a new equivalent and is only available from older collections.

MICE
The mice family consists of baby mice sized approximately 6,4 cm followed by little sister and little brother that measure about 10 cm. Big sister and big brother stands 13 cm tall whereas mother and father measure 15,2 cm. Last but not least, in the small sized mice family, are the grandparents also measure 15,2 cm. In addition there are also medium and maxi mice with a length of nearly 31 and 50 cm. Worth to mention is that baby mice sometimes is called "MY" size and both little and big sister/brother can also be labeled "micro" size.

CLOTHES
Mailegs supply for clothes changes over time. Today there are clothes available for bunnies in the size 1-5, and mouse clothes (mostly for big brother/sister and mum/dad which excludes baby mice and little sister/brother). Recently a wider range of clothes for medium and maxi sized mice has been released. Furthermore the today's supply includes clothes for the Teddy figures and that's about it.
Sizing
The very first year of Mailegs era offered clothes for bunnies in size small, medium, large and XL. Clothes were only available for bunnies (and for children :)) When the sizing of bunnies changed to micro, mini, medium, maxi, mega and mega maxi the clothes sizing followed. Obviously micro and mini sized clothes pairs well with micro and mini bunnies. Henceforth size medium goes with medium sized bunnies, size maxi with maxi sized bunnies and so on.
Mis Match
Micro sized clothes also work with big sister and big brother mouse but are to large for little sister and little brother mouse.
Previously there were also clothes produced for Best Friends figures and the Ginger family. This pieces are now retired but could still be found on the second hand market or at A Mousey Tales ;) Best Friend clothes also fits medium sized mice and sometimes mini bunnies (modern size 1-2). Some of the Ginger clothes could also work on mini bunnies.

FURNITURES
Overalll the nowadays furniture from Maileg are sized MY or micro. MY sized furniture fits baby mice and MY rabbits. Naturally micro sized furniture are fitting for micro rabbits/bunnies as well as little and big sister/brother. In most cases micro sizing should fit mum and dad mouse. Sometimes furnitures are also labeled miniature or mini which could be fitting for either mice (minature) or bunnies size 1-2 (mini). Furnitures and accessories labeled mini are generally a bit oversized for mice. The mini sized furniture was originally intended for the mini (size 1) bunnies and rabbits which are bigger than mum and did mice.
Sizing
The very old productions of Maileg were sized small, medium and large (and XL). The earlier figures from Maileg were produced in a bigger sizing and therefore the furniture was also larger. If you find a piece from an older collection, don't be mislead by the fact it could be sized small. When it comes to the very old collections size small, for example, could be a bed with a 25 cm length. Older small furnitures matches with mini bunnies and rabbits. Medium and large sized furnitures matches well with size medium and maxi bunnies (size 3-4) and also with all Best Friend as well as medium mice.
Later furniture productions, yet still retired, were sized mini and medium. Still, the collections were continuously in a bigger scale. By other words the older furniture sizing isn't fitting for modern 1:12 scale:ing. If you are looking to furniture a traditional house it's the micro sized furniture that works best.
Mis match
How ever, don't forget, in the world of imagination, nothing need to have to be the exact or right| size. There is no wrong or right, but only what you make out of it. This could be illustrated when it comes to the accessories of Maileg. Smaller items such as food, cakes and utensils are often in a larger scale than what matches the actual furniture. This means a food piece could be the same size as half the furniture. In a practical sense they are designed to be safe to be played with by children. But it also adds to the playful and whimsical atmosphere in Mailegs world. Think about Alice in Wonderland and you will have a sense of the playful and whimsical atmosphere in Mailegs world.

Can I buy products and pay later?
Accepted payment methods are various credit- and debit cards, PayPal, Shop Pay, Google Pay and Amazon Pay. Customers based in the following countries: Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Germany, UK, Netherlands and Austria also have the possiility to pay by Klarna ("pay now", "pay later" or "slice it").
If you are based in another country than listed above and wish to set up an payment plan you can contact us at: amouseytale@gmail.com. It's possible to set up an manual payment plan. For example payments can be split as wished and paid monthly by a PayPal link. Be advised NO products or orders will be distributed until full payment is made.
On what grounds are products priced?
Pricing of all collectibles are based on several grounds. For example more general factors such as the difficulties to find and import the product/s. Product specific factors such as condition and aging are also important. In conclusion the items worth are grossly determined by the ongoing demand, popularity and accessibility. This also means the very same product can be listed with a different price from time to time.
Condition
Naturally the pricing and worth of an product is determined by the condition of the product. That also includes whether the product has it original tags and packing such as box, wrapping or bag.
Time and effort
Even though it may happen once in a while that you stumble upon a rare item, it’s more likely it will not happen. Treasure hunting involves a lot of time consuming efforts. A great deal of traveling to different places - both local and international. Not to mention all time spent on phone calls, e-mails, endless hours of internet searching and all administration that follows with the efforts.
Taxes and fees
Many of the items have been on a long journey before they arrive in A Mousey Tale’s stock. Every item being brought from another country passes trough custom declarations which mean various levels of import fees and taxes. A heavier parcel weight means greater fees. The value of the item itself also affects the fees. The higher value, the higher fees. Other elements that affect the fees are depending of which country it’s being sent from - if the country is part of for example EU or Brexit etcetera.
Rare and retired
Some items were only produced in limited editions and some are just hard to find due to its popularity. It’s important to remember that rarity doesn't always equal popularity. Some very old items have lower worth due to the fact they quite frankly aren’t popular. This could mean not popular as "not popular in general" or "not popular at this exact time". As with all materialistic things the demand of those collectibles depend on contemporary factors such as culture and trends.
This means an item from a collection “only” three years ago could have a greater value (and therefore a higher selling price) than an item that is from the very beginning of Maileg's era. Then, as mentioned, the value vary over time. So the same item could be worth a lot at one point (higher selling price) and at another time not be sought for anymore (lower selling price).
Shipping Details
Tracked shipping worldwide by Swedish post carrier PostNord AB. Once your order is distributed you will automatically receive a shipping confirmation by mail. Provided in the e-mail is a tracking number and a link to www.postnord.com. Here you can track the shipping progresses. Be aware that once the parcel reach the destination other domestic post carrier/carriers will continue the shipping process.
Shipping Costs
A Mousey tale has a flat rate system no matter the destination. Shipping costs exclusively depends on the size and weight of the parcel. All shipping prices are final and cannot be discounted. The prices do not reflect the actual cost to ship the products which in reality are higher than charged.

- All orders 2,1 - 4 kg = 30€
- All orders 4,1 - 6 kg = 40€
Please note, international orders might incur import duty, check local regulations for precise information.
Add items to a current order
If you have placed an order and wish to add on more items it’s possible to do so if your original order hasn’t been shipped yet. You can place a new order and use the code DELAYSHIP to not be charged for additional shipping costs. Please be aware the total cost of shipping will be calculated at the final distribution and if needed adjusted accordingly.
Shipping Time
Be advised, A Mousey Tale is a small company, so orders are not shipping out frequently. From the time the order have been placed to actual distribution the average time is 2 weeks. We appreciate your patience. During holidays and in the case of any sudden events the distribution- and shipping time can be longer. Once the parcel has reached its destination it could take furthermore time for customs and/or domestic carrier passage.
Lost or Delayed Parcels
During holidays - especially around Black Friday and Christmas the post carrier delivery times normally are delayed. This is nothing unusual and applies for most post carriers.
A parcel is normally considered lost when 30 weekdays has passed. After that an investigation can be issued with Post Nord AB. Unfortunately A Mousey Tale cannot claim any responsibility for parcels being delayed or lost due to post carriers errors. Most parcels tend to be found sooner or later.
No returns, refunds or cancellation policy applies. All orders are final.
RETURNS
A Mousey Tale do not accept requests for cancellation of orders or the return of items unless the items received are defect upon our confirmation. The case of faulty item/s, also excludes discounted items with disclosed faults. Furthermore this do not include damage caused by post carriers. A Mousey Tale’s refund policy is in addition to and does not effect any of your legal rights (according to European law).
Damages and faulty items
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item/s is/are defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item/s, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. To be eligible for a refund in case of faulty item/s you can contact us at amouseytale@gmail.com with a full descriptions of the error. Remember to attach photos of the error/errors.
Return Costs
To return a faulty item/s, pack the item/s using all original boxes, wrapping and tags. Returns with incomplete packing will not be accepted. Please note: return shipping costs are to be covered by the customer. We recommend shipping the package back with a tracking number as A Mousey Tale don't take responsibility for any lost packages.
REFUNDS
We will notify you whether the refund was approved or not. You will be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at amouseytale@gmail.com.
Currency
You will be refunded the full amount with the currency that was used when placing the order.
Partly Refund
If you receive a faulty or damaged item and do not wish to return it you can have a partly amount refunded. Depending on the fault/faults you will be eligible to a refund of 10 - 50%.
A Mousey Tale offers a welcome discount for new customers as well as yearly seasonal sales.
Discount
When you sign up as a member of A mousey Tale you receive a 10% discount of your first order. It’s valid one time per customer and cannot be used several times. This means it’s applicable per person/household and cannot be used several times using other email addresses or names from the same post address.
Conditions
If nothing else is described all discount and promo codes are valid one time per customer. This means it's not possible to place an order using a discount code and then at a later time add items to an existing order using the code again. Once a promo or discount code has been used it has expired and is not valid.
Misuse
If a discount code that isn’t valid is being used the customer can pay the difference with this link: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/amouseytale or the order will be automatically cancelled.
